Biomathematics: an inter-disciplinary subject that seeks to understand and predict biological phenomena using mathematics, statistics, and computers.

Why? We live in a complex, rapidly changing world in which the interconnections among its inhabitants is increasing in frequency and intensity.
    - New diseases evolve and spread rapidly.
    - Searching the new complex genetic databases may provide cures.
    - Global climate change has far-reaching effects on ecological systems.

In order to lead the effort to prepare for these changes, today's students must have more quantitative skills than in the past.

These Pages: Provide laboratory exercises for biology students that help them improve their skills in mathematics and statistics to think quantitatively.

    • BiomathLabs - takes you to quantitative exercises for undergraduate biology labs.
    • Also at USU - takes you to other quantitative activities at USU.
    • People - lists people at USU who are interested in biomathematics.
    • Other Links - lists other sites for education in biomathematics.
