DNA Fingerprinting and Guilt
Back to BioMath Labs Home Page

This page presents two quantitative laboratory exercises that are useful to genetics students and can be incorporated into a genetics laboratory course.

Sampling and Statistical Testing is a combination of Java programs that simulate sampling to produce various frequency distributions relevant to hypothesis testing. The handouts accompany these programs.

DNA Fingerprinting Probabilities is a handout describing the mathematics that underlie the likelihood ratios used in legal settings to assess (partially) guilt and innocence.
